I'm Back!

Hope everyone has been enjoying their summer! I am back from my 6 weeks ministry trip it was absolutely amazing! my team was awesome I made tons of new friends, I was challenged in my faith and we got to serve others and watch God do amazing things! I will definitely never forget it! :) Here's some snapshots from my summer!

Now that I'm back I'm getting back into doing sessions...so if you would like an end of the summer/back to school session let me know! I'm offering discounts from now until September 30th! :)

Thanksgiving!

So This morning I woke up and it just so happened to be one of my favorite days of the year....yes that's right....THANKSGIVING!

I love sleeping in, coming downstairs in our PJs and watching the parades on tv while smelling the amazing aroma of cinnamon rolls (my fave) baking in the oven. Then having our delicious brunch as a family talking about all the important, small and funny things that we're thankful for....and afterwards all 7 of us kids exchange names for our secret Santa for Christmas. That ends the first part of our day.

Then we all pack up and head down to Bowie for an awesome time at my Dearma's house it's packed with SO many relatives, cousins, and 2nd cousins, aunts, uncles everyone! Did I mention there is usually like 20 kids. Yes it's happy chaos! With a delicious Jamaican Thanksgiving dinner...fun, football, card games and then ending the night with the best desserts & watching Charlie Brown.

I love stopping and taking time to be thankful, all the traditions, yummy food, spending time with family and just celebrating and enjoying life!

Yes I do love EVERYTHING about Thanksgiving and I'm so glad that it's finally here...not to mention afterwards there's black Friday shopping and then getting our Christmas Tree! Yes the fun is about it begin!

Wow sorry for that lengthy post, but I figured i'd post about why I love Thanksgiving so much. Since no post is complete without pictures I'll leave you with a collage representing some of the various things I'm thankful for:

(my absolutely amazing family and friends, my camera and photography, an education, peppermint, autumn, our trip to Jamaica and all my Jamaican relatives, mocha fraps, my volleyball team and all the awesome people at school, sleep and my warm cozy bed, and last but not least the Bible and fact that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. Just a few things I'm thankful for this year. )

I have been severely neglecting you and that will not do. I'm very sorry. I just realized that it has been a month since my last post! Two little things have taken over called school and volleyball which doesn't leave me much blogging time. But I will have some free time so stay tuned (those who still visit) for beautiful wedding pictures this weekend :)

and then later on for some pictures from the Frederick fair!

I'm back!

I just returned from an amazing trip to Jamaica! Ahh it was wonderful and I have to say I wish I was back there with the beautiful weather, and gorgeous scenery! But it is nice to be home. So stay tuned for another post in my project "just and ordinary day" and then tons of pictures from my trip....

Just an Ordinary Day....

I'm starting a new project and I'm calling it "Just an Ordinary Day" I'm challenging myself to capture my everyday life. Not the posed shot of my siblings in perfect lighting or the once in a month perfectly clean house or when everyone's all dressed up for a wedding, but the little details of my life, the things that I often overlook. The things that I would miss if I moved or someone died. Those are the moments and things I want to begin to capture.

So here is the beginning, don't expect anything fancy, but maybe you'll get a glimps into what my life really is like. I will try to do a post every week so stay tuned!

I'll begin with my kitchen/morning room this is no doubt the room that my family spends the most time in, whether it's cooking, eating, chilling on the island, working on a laptop, doing homework or just talking and listening to music. This room bring us together and is where we have some of the best conversations. In the collage below I attempted to capture some of the bits and pieces of this room:

I would like you to meet....

The newest addition to our family, Trent :) Unfortunately this puppy doesn't live with me
(I wish!), but he is my brother and sister-in-law's new puppy(which is the next best thing).
He's super cute and adorable....but I'll just let you see for yourself.

So on May 15th my amazing brother graduated from College, with a Bachelors in Government.
I am so proud of him, he has gone through so much these past couple of years, but he never gave up and kept working hard at his school, even while working and trying to care for a sick wife, yet somehow he made it through the all nighters, 40page papers and studying for finals, no matter how crazy it was he still always had time for his family and church. I'm so grateful to have this guy as my brother, role model and hero. Thanks for you amazing example and for being the best brother I could have asked for! Congrats graduate!

Snow Cream

A fun snow treat. If you are like me and like eating clean snow then this is the perfect treat.
it makes eating snow even more delicious!





Snow Cream:

16 cups of clean snow
2 cups of milk
1 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla

Mix it all up and it will make a sweet, milky, icy treat :)
